Mary Eileen McDonnell (born April 28, 1952) is a famous American film stage and television actor. She was nominated for the Academy Award nomination for her performance as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and she is well-known for her role as the President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica which was the president's wife on Independence Day and for her prominent role in Donnie Darko, as the main persona's mother.
